Lilith went off on her own to hunt for food. Unfortunately she wandered into a cave that was home to a large spider-like creature, which took her by surprise and grabbed her in its legs, causing her to drop her blaster. It then injected her with a paralyzing venom and proceeded to wrap her limp body up in its web, intending to eat her later. Unable to move or even call out for help, Lilith waited helplessly in the cave for what felt like hours for the spider monster to end her miserable existence. But just as the creature was approaching to finally enjoy feasting on its latest catch, Pete appeared out of the corner of her eye, blaster in hand.
When Lilith hadn't returned, Pete had gone looking for her, not liking her being out of his sight for so long. He eventually had spotted her blaster lying in front of this cave and went inside, soon finding her in her current predicament. A part of him was tempted to just leave her to her fate. After all, she served Andross, and therefore was the enemy. She deserved to die, right? But his conscience told him that to not help her now would be wrong, so he raised his blaster at the spider and, against his better judgment, he pulled the trigger and shot the monster just as it was about to sink its teeth into Lilith. The spider screeched in pain and scurried away back further into the darkness of the cave in fear for its life. Pete then took out his knife and proceeded to cut the still paralyzed Lilith out of her sticky bindings.
