I'm starting a project, my very first comic, and here is the cast! The comic isn't going to be anything groundbreaking, it'll be pretty derivative of the original gen 4, it's a continuation of that universe, but with some different themes, arcs, etc. It's a passion project and a way to push my creative muscles to new grounds that I haven't touched before really. I've never had the stamina or ideas to do a long term comic, but the only way to do it is to try! i still need to do individual reference sheets for them to make them easier to draw and so I can draw them accurately and consistently, plus I've got a lot of writing to do for it, but I'm very excited to see this idea start to come to fruition!

This was my first time designing characters almost purely from scratch, with very little external references or ideas, (besides candy-bottom far left-who was inspired by the gen 3 pony Princess Peppermint) and I really had a focus on making their personalities shine through their design. I wanted unique personalities, identifiable silhouettes, and to have a "rainbow" of colors the way the original mane 6 had. They're also a continuation of the elements/pillars, and like the pillars --> elements, their "title" is unique (such as: Hope -> laughter -> curiosity). I'm exceptionally pleased at how well each turned out, and I think they'll be a really compelling and interesting main cast!

I'm excited to share this with you all! The comic itself wont be coming for a little while seeing as I still have to write it, then also draw it, but I hope once it starts, I'll have a semi-consistent posting schedule for it. If not, that's ok, after all, this is a trial run. It's the workout, not the competition, and I'm hoping to continue this as purely a selfish passion project and not something I want to blow up or get really popular. In the least, maybe I'll be posting more on my main with this, it's been forever since i posted haha.

So we've got (top left to bottom right) Zip Writer (Curiosity/Laughter), Eclipse Stardust (Trust/Honesty), Misty Dreams (Patience/Kindness), Candy Twist (Fairness/Generosity), Gearbox (Ingenuity/Magic), and Trailblazer (Determination/Loyalty). Hopefully yall like them cause you'll be seeing them much more!
