This is my entry for the Transformation Game Jam 2024.
You find a fox amulet while walking through the forest, which causes you to start transforming into a fox.
You then need to find a way to counteract the fox transformation before it is complete.
As the transformation progresses this becomes more difficult, because the transformation affects what you can do.

I absolutely love this, but is there any possibility of expanding the scenario? I think it would be cool if the longer you try to stay human, the more people you accidentally spread the curse to in town. That way, you validate the guards' fears, and it gives the player a reason to stay human longer. Let's be honest, I think most of the players would just hang out in the woods until the end and wouldn't bother fighting, which makes putting up a fight or even winning the fight at odds with what we'd actually want.
I want to have a reason why the player would try to fight the transformation, even if they enjoy it, but I still do not quite know what it could be.
The easiest reason would be to make some actions more difficult or impossible after transforming , but that also means that the game ends when the player is fully transformed. The transformation spreading is an option, but it did not seem to me like this trigger (the amulet) would be contagious. I need to think about similar ideas, likely for future games.

Agreed. If I was writing this as a story, an amulet curse isn't likely to spread unless it comes in contact with others. That said, the guards do express their concern about you spreading it, and it's not the only amulet you find while exploring the woods, nor are you the only victim in the area. Maybe when you spend the night at the inn, you can leave some cursed fur in the sheets or something along that line of logic. Same for other public areas where airborne shedding could contact other people, but at a lower chance to increase the changed townsfolk counter.
