My own depiction of Silver from Watership Down!
I debated adding shading like the Bigwig headshot I drew, but decided against it since I'm drawing more characters and full shading really adds onto how long these take.
I'm not a massive fan of how Silver was portrayed in the original Watership Down movie. He's just reduced to a character who doesn't seem to have much personality other than complaining. Not that he doesn't complain in the book but he has a bit more going on, such as being part of the Sandleford Owlsa before they leave. Plus his book version gives us the reasons why he wanted to leave, the teasing over his fur and general mockery that he only got into the Owsla due to being the warren leader's nephew.
I imagine they changed him to make Bigwig stand out more, but I would have liked to see Bigwig bring his Owsla friend with him on the journey like in the book.
As he was mocked in Sandleford, I thought an easily irritable facial expression suited well, a more buff figure since he was a member of the Owsla, and of course his namesake silver light grey fur.
