It seems that past is only consisting of something harmless but from ghosts of something more terrifying and painful that probably touches the subject of suffering and maybe even death... or even multiple of to them
Regret and nostalgia in other hand is terrible combination - the dream of times that were much brighter and where the grass was greener definitely a painful reminder of things and serves as the anchor that doesn't allow you to let go the past
Regret is slow and corrosive poison that dissolves the confidence and joy slowly and slowly turns into the destructive toxin of self-hatered, doubt and self-pity
I definitely feel sorry for him
