This was on may 14th 2011 at my husband
voidbeast 's place and the temperature had dropped down to 58 F. This lovely lady or gent has climbed up about 15 feet to the back porch and had pushed it's way into the sliding door to paerch on the screen door to get warmed up. Poor thing was frigid so i grabbed the camera and had Void take some pictures as I untangled our slithery guest from the door.
Yes, I know the dangers of handling wild snakes :) this beauty is a common black snake to this area and not deadly, unless you're bite sized.
I warmed up our guest a weebit then took him/her through the house to the front porch which is a better shelter and let it slither off my arm and untangle from my wrist.
Yes that is me. I am 5ft and 3inches tall and 185 lbs, for a size difference.
Snakies are LOVE
For the rest of pics including macro close-ups I did go here https://picasaweb.google.com/daemonik.dragon/May142011?authkey=Gv1sRgCJHj-M2Ttu7f-wE&feat=directlink#

D'aww! I can see they probably wouldn't have minded the handling too much because you were nice and warm, probably the best kind of wild-experience with snakes. Just wanted to get toasty warm and then slither away somewhere safe!
Would be nice to have that kind of experience over on my side of the world, but unfortunately many of the 'common' species over here are highly venomous.

It amazed me how much strength he ahd even after being so cold lol, His tail end was wrapped around my right wrist when we took him to the front of the house and my hand was purple from how tight he'd squeezed. Then again, if some huge warm squishy tree suddenly appeared and *I* was a cold snake, I'd hold on for dear life too.
*nods* it was an amazing experience for sure. I'm certain that if the poor thing hadn't been half torrpid from the cold that I wouldn't have been able to hold him.
It had been a wet and rainy weekend, so the warmer and dry house had to have been a beacon to him. I figure my body heat was worth the manhandling :) I got one lil suprised hiss sound and a little pee on my arm adn dress for my troubles, but it was well worth it.
