Description: Born in the City of Dragonclaw, a small city located South of Icewind Dale and full of Dragonborn, Dragons, Kobolds, and other anthros that don’t belong on the continent of Faerûn, Sashina is a Black and Gold Dragonborn that spent a lot of her early years reading books, playfighting with her friends, and even spending time with a Platinum Dragon named Zethrin. He was an Aspect of Bahamut Dragon who enjoyed spending his time amongst the common folk of the City, especially young Sashina who always had a fondness for adventure and loved to try and learn magic. Sashina would be interested in Zethrin’s conversations when he talked of the land of Faerûn outside the city walls and would always ask about his adventures, listening with admiration as he talked about the tales. One day, when Sashina was around 16 years old, she asked Zethrin if he could take her out on an adventure, and Zethrin, having a kind heart and wanting to ensure she was safe, asked if she would like to be a Warlock with him as her Patron. Sashina, knowing that this meant he’d take her out on an adventure, happily accepted, and Zethrin carefully rested a claw on her shoulder, pressing his larger head to hers gently as the symbol of a Fiend Warlock appeared on her tongue.
“I am now your Patron, Sashina. We will have a 4-day journey to the place I’ll take you to for this adventure. During this journey, I will be helping you train your skills and spellcasting. That way you will be able to fight anything that tries to harm you.” Zethrin said softly as Sashina, overwhelmed with joy, hugged the great Dragon’s snout, causing Zethrin to chuckle softly and let out a deep rumbling purr from her happiness. He then changed his form to a 14ft tall anthro dragon, tucking his wings in as he looked down at her, “We should gather some supplies and equipment for you before we head out, Sashina.” Zethrin said as he took her to the Local Blacksmith, ordering an Axe, Sword, Crossbow, and some armored clothing for her. After she had protection and a weapon, he grabbed supplies from the General Store in the City, like food, rope, and a bag, as they set out past the City Gates. On the journey to an abandoned Temple of Astilabor, a Dragon Goddess of Wealth, Sashina would be trained with the Axe, Sword, and Crossbow that Zethrin bought for her.
During the training, she would also learn how to cast spells, mostly through her maw where Zethrin put the symbol so she could further utilize her maw in combat. This included practicing her breath weapons of both acid and fire, being that she was both a Black and a Gold Dragonborn. Eventually, they arrived at the abandoned temple, where Zethrin said some words in Elvish before the door glowed with the Elven Language on its borders and opened. He stepped aside, “Alright, Sashina, from here you will be on your own. Tread carefully, use what I have taught you, and find Astilabor's Eye, an enchanted ring once used by her to get better prices when trading with the locals on trade routes. When you are done, return to me at this entrance. And if you get lost or scared, shout for me as hard as you can. I’ll come looking for you in a heartbeat.” He said softly, smiling warmly at her. Sashina happily went inside the temple, waving at Zethrin as she walked deeper into the temple.
Sashina's excitement of being on her first adventure led her to not notice that the temple had traps set up for anyone trying to take Astilabor's treasure, triggering a hidden pressure plate that caused the walls to start shooting some arrows from thin holes in the wall. She winced as one of them nicked her scales through the armor she wore and swiftly ran through the corridor to the other side, getting nicked a few more times in the process. Once on the other side, she plucked any arrows that were embedded in her armor and scales out, throwing them down before continuing deeper. Sashina spotted a normal-looking chest in Astilabor’s Treasury, going to open it before the chest opened, revealing a maw and eyes on the top lid. Realizing she was dealing with a Mimic, she thought quickly and threw some cooked steak from her bag into the maw. The Mimic was confused at first but accepted the treat, now seeing the Dragonborn as a friend as she took the opportunity of it not attacking her to find Astilabor’s Eye, digging through a pile of treasure. While digging through some of the piles, she felt the Mimic bump into her and turned to find its maw open with the ring at the back of its throat, and for a moment she swore she saw it smiling happily as it presented the item she was sent to find. She carefully reached in and grabbed the ring, pocketing it as she waved thanks and started making her way out of the treasury.
As she made her way to the door, she heard the Mimic following her and politely told it to stay before she continued, only hearing it follow her again. With a defeated sigh, she lightly patted its head, earning an affectionate lick as she chuckled and allowed it to follow her outside. “Well, it appears you not only found the ring, but made a friend as well. Got a name for him?” He asked with a smile. Sashina was initially caught off guard by the question as she turned to look at the Mimic, who had such an adorable smile up at her as she contemplated a name, “How about….Sto'rag? You like that name?” she asked the Mimic. The Mimic nodded happily and nudged up into her hand as she rubbed its ‘head’ gently with a smile, before handing the ring over to Zethrin, who smiled as well. “Thank you, Sashina, but you can keep it, as a memory of your first adventure.” He said with a smile as he put it in her bag. Sashina smiled and, with her first taste of adventure, followed Zethrin back home, her new companion following eagerly behind her.
Over the next two years, Sashina and Sto'rag would go on adventures by themselves, with Sto'rag's chest body changing from oak and silver colors to a more midnight purple-black and gold to match his new friend as he learned to speak fluently with her help, even gaining a Drake form due to prolonged exposure around her. This led to Sto'rag getting to eat many bandits with ease, his belly getting nice and rounded out due to the pudge. Sashina and Sto'rag would stumble upon an interesting sight while heading into the small town of Triboar, a Horse with 2 Kobold Riders, one a set of orange and red, the other more chubby and covered in galaxy blues, purples, and yellows. Approaching the trio, Sashina learned their names were Ike'hara, Scorch, and Oberon. The Kobolds, Scorch, and Oberon, were brothers, Scorch being an Artificer Ranger and his older brother Oberon a Wizard. They had befriended and tamed Ike'hara when Scorch was on his own in the mountains gathering supplies for him and his brother during a winter storm. He spotted her, asking for help to warm up from the storm, only to be surprised by her method of warming up as he found himself eaten by the horse and sent down into her belly for warmth. Scorch enjoyed the warmth and even asked if she wanted to have an owner who would take care of her in exchange for her belly whenever asked. She happily agreed, grabbing his bag in her mouth and trotting out of the storm towards the camp in the distance, where Oberon was shocked to find his brother was inside of Ike'hara's belly. Sashina asked if they'd like to be an adventuring party together, to which Scorch happily agreed, while Oberon was initially hesitant but agreed as the group discussed plans for the next adventure.
While discussing plans, they overheard a commotion about goblins from the Underdark starting to attack trade routes and nearby towns. With a shared look, the group packed their things, bought some rations for the road, and made their way out towards the last sighting of the Goblins and Orcs. After a week of traveling with her adventuring ‘family’ as they have grown to be to her, Sashina stopped when she caught the scent of fresh blood, and followed it to a small camp of mangled goblins that looked like they were mauled. She followed a trail of blood that seemed like it was caused by a limping and injured beast towards a nearby cave, finding an adult Owlbear that had succumbed to its injuries protecting its cub, a white and blue female Owlbear cub that she carefully coaxed over to her with some lamb chops. The Owlbear cub happily accepted the lamb chops, eating them while Sashina gently rubbed her head, smiling warmly, “Why don’t you come with us, little one? We can take care of you. How’s…Sirena sound for your name?” she asked softly, the Owlbear Cub’s bright green eyes shimmering happily as it pounced her, hugging her with all its might. She chuckled as Sirena hugged her, gently rubbing her before standing up slowly while holding the big owlbear cub, carrying her out of the cave to join the others. The others smiled happily at the sight of the young cub in healthy condition, gently rubbing her head and back as Sashina sat her down gently. “You're with us now, Sirena. You'll be safe in our ‘family’. Those nasty goblins and orcs won't hurt you,” she said softly, Sirena happily saying thank you in a cute voice as she hugged everyone.
After getting their stuff situated, they traveled southbound on The Long Road toward the City of Waterdeep to see if there was a quest or anything they could help with to make some gold. As their adventuring ‘family’ neared the small village of Amphail, a Tabaxi Bard stopped them in their tracks, flirting with Sashina and commenting on her appearance, trying to entice her to leave her ragtag group behind and marry him. Sashina, disgusted by the Bard’s proposal and suggestion, grabbed the Tabaxi’s feline tail and twisted it into a knot, and kicking him aside, telling him to beat it as their group entered Amphail, the Bard’s pride and dignity crippled after she manhandled him so easily. At Amphail they delivered some of the supplies they picked up from the Goblin Camps and did some trading, where Sashina learned that a Potion shop in Waterdeep was selling Potions that allowed predators to safely consume someone without bringing them harm if they could not control their stomach acid, and vice versa if a Prey was consumed and didn’t want to be harmed. This brought intrigue to her and her family as she made mention of it, she knew that Sto’rag could control his stomach acids and that Sirena could when she became a full-grown Owlbear, and that Ike’hara, being a Horse, her digestion was prolonged so any prey that she ate was safe for a while until the acid started to get active, but the Kobold brothers and her couldn’t control their acid, nor knew of any magic to help keep them or their prey safe if they do any acts of vore.
With this knowledge in hand, she proposed buying the recipes for those potions as well as any supply that the shop had, in order to indulge in the experience amongst themselves and give it a try. The Kobold Brothers were certainly intrigued by Sashina’s idea and agreed. Arriving a week later at Waterdeep, the group travels to The Gurgling Cauldron, heading inside where they meet the storekeeper, a Frostbone Lurker, a type of Skullbeast that usually lived in the Northern lands of Faerûn, named Thaldrak Coldbrew. Thaldrak was rather wise and polite towards the group, offering them a drink for the evening while he serviced their shopping needs. Sashina pulled out her bag of coins and handed a few handfuls to Thaldrak, requesting whatever stock he may have on the Vore Potions and whatever else it could pay for. Thaldrak, with a warm smile, took the money and handed her what he had on hand, including a copy of the recipes, a cauldron to make them in, and some of the ingredients before pulling out some to make more potions for her. As he made the potions, he couldn't help but notice Sto'rag's Drake form's metallic features, and asked him about it. Sto'rag nervously shifted in place for a moment, before shrinking down, reverting his body to his mimic form, causing the shop/bar to go quiet in shock as he revealed his ‘true form’. Sashina explained that he tries to stay in Drake form when they're in towns. They know Mimics were usually not wanted or liked in most of the bigger towns and cities, so he kept to his Drake form. Thaldrak, being the centuries-old Frostbone that he was, understood the trouble that came with hiding a secret that could be deemed dangerous if revealed and made it known that at his place, Sto'rag was free to be himself and that he'd talk with the Lord of Waterdeep to allow Sto'rag to be himself when in the City.
Sto'rag happily bounced up and down on the little dragon legs he had in his mimic form, thanking Thaldrak for his decision. Thaldrak chuckled and offered the group to use the upstairs for the duration of their stay while he talked with the Lord of Waterdeep to allow friendly Mimics like Sto'rag to stay peacefully. The group happily accepted and followed him upstairs where they got situated and unpacked their sleeping bags to sleep for the night. As everyone started to fall asleep, someone else had their eyes on something valuable. A Feathered Raptoran named Sarlene Leatherspine, who had witnessed Sto'rag's transformation downstairs a couple of hours ago, wanted to take any treasures he may have had, gliding from a rooftop onto the 2nd-floor windowsill of The Gurgling Cauldron. Carefully opening the window, she slipped inside and went towards the sleeping chest, or so she thought. His eyes snapped open as she approached and he let out a low draconic hiss, alerting Sashina who quickly drew her axe, looking towards Sarlene, who quickly apologized as she found Oberon's magic now blocked the window. Explaining how she had never met a Mimic before, she wanted to see what treasures Sto'rag had inside, and so wanted to find out for herself. Sashina chuckled and explained that he held their equipment and supplies as well as treasure, although they only had a little treasure on them due to having just arrived at Waterdeep from Amphail.
Sarlene nodded, looking around at the group before asking if she could join them. She noticed that they lacked a skillful Rogue to detect traps and slip past them to disarm them. Sashina was quick to ask if she'd try and steal from them, using their newly acquired vore potions as a way to warn Sarlene that she'd gladly eat her and hold her inside her until she learned her lesson if she had to, to which Sarlene agreed. Pondering for a moment on what Sashina threatened her with, she got an idea of how they could use the potions to make a profit, intriguing Sashina as she asked her to speak. The idea was that they use the potion to give civilians that need safe passage from one town to another, transporting them in the stomach of their choosing, proposing that Sashina be the primary option due to her being a Warlock, meaning she could have some healing spells to help the prey inside her if the potion runs out and they don't have any made on standby. Sashina pondered the idea, and the others shared some thoughts before they agreed. It sounded like a good side hustle, but they enjoyed the adventures more. Sarlene chuckled and nodded as the group got back in bed for the evening, with her pulling out her own sleeping bag to sleep, curling up on it. Over the next few days, the group took their time to enjoy the City of Waterdeep while Thaldrak had a talk with the Lord with Sto'rag joining him, soon convinced the lord that Sto'rag was a trustable and friendly mimic, voraciousness aside. Soon after, an announcement was held in the main plaza of the city, welcoming Sto'rag as the first-ever mimic to be allowed to live in a city freely with his adventurous family, news that was quick to spread throughout Faerûn.
The group cheered happily and thanked Thaldrak while Sto'rag happily tackled the kobolds in a hug in chest form, Scorch giggling as he found himself inside of the Mimic. Sto'rag giggled and let Scorch free while the others chuckled at the display of affection before moving on their way out of the City for their next adventure. After receiving word of an abandoned temple inside the forest, they traveled East-Northeast of Waterdeep, into The High Forest. On their way to the temple, the group stumbled upon an Aarakocra Pelican Barbarian and a Druid Crestsong outnumbered and fighting a pack of Gnolls and Goblins. They wasted no time joining the fight to help the Barbarian and Druid hold back the small army that outnumbered them. Together, they were able to defeat the Gnolls and Goblins, some of which found themselves inside of the Aarakocra or some of Sashina’s group. Once the ruckus of the fight died down, Scorch reached into his bag and offered healing potions to the Crestong and Aarakocra, who happily accepted. The Crestsong introduced herself as Maeve Insightfern, and her Pterosaur companion Solace, as the Aarakocra introduced himself as Gulliver Tideswoop, commonly referred to as “Gullet” as a nickname, to which Scorch giggled a bit. Maeve asked what brought the group out into The High Forest, and Sashina replied that there was an Abandoned Temple of Bhaal they wished to check out. At the mention of Bhaal, Maeve recoiled a small bit, cursing the name’s utterance before asking why exactly they'd willingly go into such a dark place, “Because…wouldn't you like to try purifying such an evil place? We plan on trying to remove any evil artifacts ourselves.” Sashina replied, apologizing for willingly mentioning the sadistic god's name.
Maeve thought for a moment and soon agreed, requesting that she and her friend Gulliver join the group, to which Sashina accepted, and the group made the rest of their journey to the Temple. Upon arriving, the air around it reeked of evil and the murder of innocents, causing some of the group to snarl and be on edge as they carefully entered. The place was full of traps and things that made them avert their gaze lest they throw up. They agreed that they didn't want to stay too long, as the air was irritating their noses and making some of them nauseous. The group hastened their pace, finding some of the more evil artifacts that needed to be removed for Maeve’s Druid magic to begin having an effect on cleansing the temple. Three hours later, the group managed to find their way back out, some having a coughing fit due to the smell of the Temple making them sick to their stomachs while Maeve used her magic to freshen the air with floral smells while casting cleansing magic upon the temple in a hope to start reversing the effects of the sadistic god's presence inside.
After Maeve was done, she invited the group to join her in her home at the Emerald Shoal, a Druidic Grove that acted as a Sanctuary for those who felt in danger, and the group happily followed Maeve to her home. Once there, they were greeted by other druids of her kind and other species, most of which were Forest creatures of anthro or feral stature. Maeve led them to her home in the Grove and made them all tea, while Sashina used some of her supplies to cook some trout for the group. Maeve was initially uncertain but gave the fish a try, finding it delicious. Over the years to come, Maeve and Gulliver had become a part of the family, with Zethrin checking in on Sashina and her ‘family’ from time to time, cooking large meals for the group as they went on adventures, helping wherever they could, keeping an air of peace the best that they could. This peace didn't last long, however. Tears opened in the sky, and Illithid Warships called Nautiloids appeared all over the Sword Coast, causing mass panic. Their journey was only just beginning, a new threat was now on the horizon, threatening everyone they knew.
