Meet Captain Jarrash "Wordy" Wordhall, a prominent NPC from my homebrew Astral Expanse D&D campaign. Formerly part of a black-ops quad in the Astral Patol Military Division (APMD) along with his comrade Zeks, a white kobold, he and Zeks were dishonorably discharged after coming forward to speak out against their superior officer's unhinged methods. Captain Wordhall now commands his own mercenary ship, the Crimson Starhawk, with Zeks as the ship's Quartermaster, weapons specialist, and demolitions expert.
Wordy is a complicated man, but he's stoic and reserved. To many, he comes off as no-nonsense and stern, but there's a softness to him that's uncharacteristic of a former soldier. When he needs to be, he's a strong leader capable of quieting a room and taking charge. He tends to run a tight ship when he needs to, but he's capable of cutting loose and relaxing when the situation calls for it. He's bisexual and has had a few flings in the past on shore leave, but lost interest in romantic relationships after being discharged.
