Why make him fat:
1.For the simple fact that he is a werewolf. He was having trouble through out his highschool, then low and behold its the prom, and he transforms into a werewolf. However he learns how to turn this around when he enters the boxing ring.
2. Like his cousin, he let it all go to his head. However unlike his cousin Scott, he seemed to display more dog like actions such as catching frizbies with his mouth. And since he is boxing rather than playing basket ball, his body needs some extra defense. I'm guessing that trophy is for both support that fact that he won so many matches and to support his belly. As to where the belly came from, well, you never do know what happenes to the bad guy at the end of the movie, of perhaps its that principal in there, or maybe both. I'll let you figure it out for yourselves.
