Quartermaster Zeks

Meet Zeks, a popular NPC from my homebrew Astral Expanse D&D campaign. Formerly part of a black-ops quad in the Astral Patol Military Division (APMD) along with Captain Jarrash Wordhall, an emerald Dragonborn, he and Zeks were dishonorably discharged after coming forward to speak out against their superior officer's unhinged methods. Zeks now serves aboard Captain Wordhall's ship, the Crimson Starhawk, as the ship's Quartermaster, weapons specialist, and demolitions expert.
Zeks is a sarcastic, cranky, and crass white kobold with an affinity for big guns and high ordinance. Despite his seemingly prickly and apathetic nature a heart of gold beats inside his chest. He'll always be a champion for the little man, the oppressed. He sees Captain Wordhall like a brother but otherwise doesn't have any family that anyone knows of. If he has any kin, he doesn't speak of them. It's rare for him to take a liking to anyone and equally rare to earn his respect. Those who do find a loyal and steadfast ally.
In combat, Zeks carries a huge rotary laser cannon he named Bethild (pronounced bay-tilled), which he affectionately calls Betty. He's demisexual with a preference for men when it comes to physical relations.
He was inspired by Rocket Raccoon of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
