My Ibizan hound Geb was one of the best dogs I've ever known. He was a goofy, loving, gentle soul who made every good boy cliche a reality. He passed away on August 6th, 2023, and was 14 & 1/2 years old. He helped me through a lot of my depression, and I still struggle to get through every day without him. Haiku was one of our other Ibizan hounds, and she passed away not long after he did in early November of 2023. It's hard to believe it's been over a year and a half since losing them. In a lot of ways, it feels like at any moment they're going to walk through my door. It makes it hurt that much more but I'll never regret having had them in my life. Ever.
