Original description: Phew, I don't know what's gotten to me, but I'm in such a big mood for drawing Rotteen as of late. Perhaps it's due to my good and final freedom from the tyranny of requests? If so, then that's excellent!
I wanted to draw the Tokyo Underground Sewage Facility as the setting of this image since that's my most memorable level in good old Jet Set Radio Future. I just love how I emulated the shading that
the level has and I also love how we get to see what her skates are like: They're literally based on how I view them in her Man, It's So Loud In Here cover art where her feet look a bit like a pair of
cylindrical rollers.
Look out Garam, Poison Jam and the other taggers who love the sewage facility. Looks like Rotteen is here to spray her mark on your walls too!
Retrospective: Such a brilliant background! I could sing my love for this level from JSRF for minutes at a time. I actually did something different here by making the colours of the character, Rotteen, actually muted and different to fit with the setting. In JSRF they do that with the colours of the characters in certain levels and areas and I think it adds a nice bit of beauty and realism to the game. Definitely something I should keep in mind for Street Soul!
