This amazing photo was taken by Jenny at Raindog Photography http://www.raindogphoto.com/ . My pup was picked to go on a 2012 calendar that the shelter I got him from is producing http://www.homewardpet.org/ . I don't know which picture has been picked for that.
It was really hard getting Didy to sit still. He knew we had his favorite treats! He soon figured out that if he just stayed where he was and wait for the click, he'd get his treat.
I just love this pic. It captures his sweetness so well. <3

Yeah, it was amazing to watch her work. She used a very fast shutter, and pretty much everything she caught (even of Didy running) came out well. I'm jealous! Photography is not my forte. Thankfully, my camera is very nice and forgiving of my "Which button do I press? This one? I think it's this one..." ability.
It looks like she had her aperture opened quite wide given the shallow depth of field. Great call for this photo, too. My problem when I try a shot like that is that the focus will somehow always end up locked onto the tail, the foliage behind, the random bee that flew past... anywhere but what I WANT it to be locked onto. XD
It's the combinations that get me. I can take a fine photo of the animal, but they never sit still long enough for me to set up the shot! They're always moving, and by some kind of universal law will ALWAYS do something exactly as the shutter drops. xD In my case, I'm sure it's not the equipment, I just need to figure out the skills.
