they like to play up being rivals, but when the game is over the two sides actually mingle pretty often. Bishop is a newbie subject of Alterra's, and doesn't quite know this fact, so he's too ashamed to tell King about his crush on him, more inclined to hop away in fear. King likes to tease him because of how shy he is.
i dunno too much about chess but i see a bunch of posts about people turning into chess pieces and i'm like.... they would make very cute drunks...
