Ogawa is the Captain of the Nishimura Family, a subsidiary of the Kinryu yakuza clan based in Osaka. He swiftly progressed through the ranks after establishing a weapons-smuggling operation between Japan and the US west coast, using Hawaii as a go-between, which earned his Family a fortune and Ogawa promotion from Lieutenant to Captain. Many within the clan see him as a prime candidate for Chairman, but others are concerned that his all-consuming ambition and lack of honour could drive the clan to its death, not least of all his Patriarch, Satoshi Nishimura, whose declining health coupled with Ogawa's power within the Family has seen Ogawa become the de facto leader of the Nishimura Family.
A shrewd mind, Ogawa is also a legendarily-ferocious combatant; he became known as the "Hero-Killer" after defeating many of Japan's top superheroes - killing six of them - despite not having any apparent powers of his own. He often fights with Yatagarasu, the ancestral sword of the Ogawa lineage, a sword feared since the Warring States period as being possessed by demons.
Ogawa travels to Carrington ostensibly to oversee his smuggling operation's Californian centre of operations, but the true purpose of his trip is a request from the city's mayor, who hopes to use Ogawa as a enforcer to his own ends...Quick Trivia:
- Ogawa is a yakuza veteran, first joining the Kinryu at the age of 20. However, his rise up the ranks didn't start until three years after he joined, when he excelled himself during a botched raid on a rival clan's compound.
- He's fluent in Japanese and English; whenever he speaks English, he presents himself in an overly-cordial manner. In Japanese, he speaks with a heavy Kansai accent.
- His foremost likes are wielding power and authority, foreign luxury cars, 90s rock music, and trips to the driving range. His main dislike is disappointing fights, especially against heroes, but he's also known to have a distaste for any kind of raw seafood.
- His favourite dish is sirloin steak, his favourite snack is takoyaki, and his favourite drinks are draft beer (alcoholic) and spring water (non-alcoholic). He also has a lesser-known fondness for strawberry ice cream.
- His physical appearance is inspired by Japanese actor Munetaka Aoki.
- His specific pose here is inspired by one of Kiryu's poses in the intro to Like a Dragon Gaiden.Sorry for the very long description, but this is my first real "lore post", so I hope it's not too much lol
But this guy was borne out of my recently-developed RGG obsession, and he's kind of like a late-story boss for Comet (if I ever write anything about him, that is)
