100 years ago her great grandmother led the revolt against the crown and Junic authority, despising the owls and living in squalor she and the Vermillionaires had discovered a new type of plant, a green plant, that could live off of minimal conditions, photosynthesized well and could provide the crowded city with a means to expand across the underground plate. Eventually tumult led to rebellion and the Vermillionaires were quickly betrayed by the most radical amidst themselves.

Years passed and eventually the daughter of the first Minnow became friends with Alastair. Unlikely pair as they were they found friendship in their exile from Juno, and eventually worked together to restore Juno and create the 100 year peace that exists now. This Minnow is an interesting figure. Alice was born to the Minnow family not as a rebel but as a respected house and family. She struggles with trying to compare to her ancestors, but finds solace in the farthest expanses of Ridge 9, the farthest anyone in Juno has ever traveled. Preferring to be alone she's often very silent. Some often believe her to be mute.

Alice spends most of her time with her close friends wishing to explore the expanse in peace, and urging those around her to live in peace as well.
