It's quite... Different from the dead logs I'm used to...
And I guess there was quite a different idea for "world peace" between you and the person.
Just like most ideas unfortunately, like for me being out in a open field, the normal amount of snow coming down no noise other than my own breath, that's the most peace I've found from the daily fight for survival in the city.

In fact, this is what a tree with deciduous foliage looks like. However, I am surprised that you have not at least seen fir trees, which are quite resistant to low temperatures.
Yours is a valid kind of peace like any other. At least, if we take the definition that mortals put on it.

Ah evergreens I think I've heard them called, can't remember and most things relating to them have been in less than ideal conditions when I found them. There further south, further than I've ever been due to frequent storms that can knock down much tougher structures than tree's rendering them unable to grow in the north as their roots are unable to keep them grounded when they do sprout. It is also why most settlements are in canyons and other places that protect from their winds.

some people would say that sacrificing someone for the sake of someone else could be considered the extreme end of affection. romantic or platonic. There is the expectation that all are on the same level so to speak, which i'm not sure if mortals are in this, but the intention of the act is still there for sure.
I just hope your gardener knows how to take care of cherry blossom trees, they're quite the vulnerable species if i recall correctly.

Merek, the gardener, is very competent in this field. He will know how to look after this new essence.
As for the sacrifice... Think of it more as the need to take care of the materials used. A poorly maintained tool is one that will not do its job properly or is likely to break. The same applies to living beings, mortal or immortal.
