I always worry that I portray my characters in extraordinary situations far more often than living their ordinary lives, which the reason for this piece by
orcaowl.
You couldn't tell how awkward Bryce is in real life from seeing (and hearing) him perform. It's the one time where he's comfortable being in the spotlight. Of course, sometimes there are wombats hiding backstage, but none of those sorts of things matter once the music starts to flow.

...personally..I feel it should be a balance...either we have to see them in their fantastic and fun weird science/time travel shenanigans, which makes them the more..fascinating (duh..), and we also should get the chance to see them in their normal life of each day, which makes them the more relatable and to become closer with the reader, looking at them not only like characters..but real living beings, as most for sure they are at this point thanks to your work ^^
1. I'm definitely a fan of the everyday. Sully is a gardener, this is my love; The duties of an assistant, like taking out garbage or something like that..
2. Bryce on nature - too (I like it when he does music, but I think I'm just closer to gardening and nature, or some everyday little things like cleaning the backyard)
3. Zeke. Well, he loves..NATURE. Wow, wowXD
4. Also, past eras, where Henry and Luke perfectly fall, as well as Mina. Although dinosaurs and the wild west are closer than piracy (the construction of ships is damn complicated). Although someday I should try to draw a part of the ship in one way or another, and not just the deck.
I'm such a down-to-earth deer. Future who?

..and let's not leave aside Emmet, being an adorable old science man working on his gun-..I mean! adorable mad science projects!...and holding a repair shop...a shop we have never had the chance to see for real..(or maybe this counts)...but I bet it is at somewhere in the burrow! :3
I feel I know s o m e o n e else that could share that feeling........probably even me ^^'

I always had a gut feeling that the workshop would end up being the empty space that everything orbits around.
If this were, say, a graphic novel, then I would definitely want every part of the Burrow well-defined and laid out. If somebody gave me an excuse to depict a repair order then some of those gaps might get filled...

As a cartoon lover, it makes sense. In the plots of most shows, "burrow" is a base of heroes, events take place there, but they are usually more chamber and controlled, it is a place for relaxation and minor troubles. But beyond is a world of chaos.
The world is alive while the minor characters live their lives in parallel with the character. They all live their lives while Emmett works at the Burrow, it makes them personal, for me, it`s truth.

What counts as the "everyday" depends both on who characters are on the "inside" and how they interact with their world. For example, Bryce wasn't an "outdoorsy" person before he met Zeke, and now he is (but he still wouldn't do something like this).
Sully's gardening does represent a part of who he is, and his boss gave him the space to pursue it. Henry and Luke are who they are unless you take them out of their element. Mina's nautical/outlaw lifestyle actually isn't a fundamental part of her character, and we're going to see how it stresses her.
The "down-to-earth" can then (I hope) really bring out a character is (and who they are not).

Well, I mean, everything does get conditioned by the overall story.
Like Zeke, for example. Most of what we're seeing with him are flashbacks to his time with Bryce, since Bryce is a major character and Zeke isn't. And Zeke is both really into his hobbies and wanted to involve his hubby in them (and his hubby wanted to be involved).
For "day to day" we could depict Zeke, I dunno, giving a presentation at a business conference, but what would be the point of that? We already know that Bryce is both living with the aftereffects of no longer having the support of a wealthy partner and that some of Zeke's interests rubbed off on him.
As things get more "extraordinary" for Bryce, the extraordiary will be his day-to-day.
