What if Arix, but feathers?
Feels weird. My skin feels a lot...softer. Squishier. And where have my wings gone? Judging by the weird hardness protruding from my face-parts which I assume is what one might call a "beak", I assume I'm a bird now. Should I have wings? And don't even get me started on my tail. I like my tail! It's thick and strong! Good for whackin' and thwackin'! Now THAT'S a warrior's tail! What's this piddly, whippy little thing? What am I supposed to do with this, tickle the dastardly villain to death?
...you know what? Fine. Shield still feels nice and sturdy. Sword still heavy. Armour still solid. Fine, I can work with this. But you better give me my scales back soon!

If you really think about it, birds descended from dragons, so logically this wouldn't actually be too much of a departure! Plus, hollow bones will make you a lot faster and more agile, and the beak makes pecking a valid combat strategy!
As a bird, you should probably have wings though. Big majestic feathery wings! Dunno how those got lost in translation!
