Newer poetry, one of my favorites. I suppose this poem is my reflection on my existance, and religion. What I am and what I believe do not mesh, so its up to me to tie the fayed edges of two different fabrics together; and try and find my place in the weave.
Partially inspired by a few lines out of equus; good play.

Kiama...
WOW!
I woke up this morning and the first thing I opened was this. I have been reading, re-reading, just looking, and even inhaling this verse.
It seems, like me, your paths are many.
As a fur, I feel.
As the wolf, I teach.
As a human, I beg.
As a man, I see.
As a friend, I hold.
As myself, I understand.
As a Christian, I forgive.
It is never a sin to ask, for you must ask to be forgiven.
As you can see, I as well carry many paths within. In time I am sure they will merge. It will only be then, I can finally be one!
Once more you humble me in your verse.

I would wonder when i was young, if i was to believe dragons as real creatures, and not icons of a darker nature, then why were dragons considered terrible creatures? What kind of betrayal, arrogance, or selfishness did they commit to become icons stronger than demons?
And thus, how should I feel, about my supposed heritage? If my ancestors were cast from heaven, where did that leave me, their child, in God's eyes?
Its not a problem i truly struggle with; more like a hypothetical question of 'what if...' that intrigues my thoughts now and then. Yet, from time to time i still find myself wondering where dragons do belong in this world; since they have long passed from here and remain only in name:
"Here, there be Dragons".
Since then, i have come to believe that it does not necessarily matter which path you walk, or where you start from; you cant choose your birth, or how you are. Rather it matters only that you have the will to walk that path, and learn what life has to teach you. The true sin is to waste such a gift.
Those are the footsteps i try my hardest to follow.

I think this is arguably one of my most powerful pieces because of the pre-existing references. I hadnt ever done something so blatently religious; but I hesitate to say religious because it is *more* about sin, and living with those mistakes we make, and wondering in the end if not god will forgive us, but ourselves. Still, I think I chose some great imagery, powerful metaphors, and tied it with powerful religious and spiritual concepts/legends. I think this poem has a lot more interior potential than most of my work
