Oh okay :D I thought you just sprayed over them with a clear gloss.
Are you comfortable drawing foxes? I have two fox OCs I'd love to get some swag on, I just can't decide on which one.
One's a fennec fox with angel wings and I think I'd really like a night/starry sky backdrop.
The other is a silver fox and I have no clue on backgrounds, etc.

If I sprayed them The fabric probably wouldn't move as well. Most Water Proof sprays are made for leather shoes anyway. But I looked into it online and people said using the textile medium would help, and acrylic paint when dry is pretty much water proof. Its basicaly plastic paint lol. Now I wouldnt go out of my way to get my shoes wet, but Im sure they will hold up fine.
And yes Ive drawn Foxes before ^^ . Also, You have 4 sides to shoes. What if you have your Angel Character on the outside and the Silver one on the inside. as far as Backgrounds go. I wouldnt go to hugely detailed, because if I have to do alot of layers there is a bigger risk of pealing since if I have to paint over paint it wont adhere as well to the fabric.
What kind of shoes did you want painted? Ive only ever painted fabric and canvas like shoes, like chucks and such. Its what i recommend to anyone wanting custom shoes.

Yeah :D Acrylics are the best I've just never painted textiles/fabrics with them. And I try and stay as dry as possible but I didn't want to have "oh I stepped in a puddle" to "oh deng. Now my shoes are messed up D:"
That's a good idea :o I'll open up SAI and see if there's anything I can come up with for ideas, and yeah peeling would be all bad Dx
And as for shoes I was thinking depending depending on the idea I can derp up by tonight I was thinking navy blue or white/cream chucks. :o that way if I went with the night sky idea the shoes wouldn't require so much paint because they're already blue and just need like black-blue clouds and stars or whatever xD

Well I can swing both ways. Darker Chucks would probably be best, since you want a night sky. But I do have the materials to paint one. I would probably not encase the whole shoe in paint but have it fade out from around the character and into the natural color of the shoe.
