Before becoming a hermit and settling in a cave, Calypso was one of the best jewellers in the Kingdom. However, after falling ill with an incurable disease, she went wandering in search of a cure. This is how she ended up in the Forest of Giants, where she found a deep cave filled with never-before-seen minerals. Using her skills, she mastered one of the oldest magical disciplines, crystal magic. With its help, Calypso healed herself and decided to stay in the cave to continue learning its secrets.

Calypso has become a legend, told by herbalists to the seriously ill. These stories encourage the desperate to embark on dangerous journeys in the hope of finding the cave where the witch doctor lives, able to heal even death.

Calypso's favourite food is mushrooms, as there is almost nothing else edible in the cave and its surroundings. She especially loves hogs and knows 20 ways to cook them.
