The 18. episode where Zekra drills holes in heads and Arqeez gets sum fuk offscreen.
Over one year of working on it and this came out... This was an attempt at writing a murder mystery, which at least taught me two things: I'm not good at writing murder mysteries, and I'm definitely not a planner, as excessive planning keeps me from writing and most of the time, those plans go out of the window because more often than not it's details added on the fly that spin out of control and into unexpected prominence.
Also, trepanation is a valid surgery technique, not some ancient hocus pocus performed by dumb primitives who wanted to let out malevolent spirits out of heads or whatever other claims there is attached to it.

Was it really a year? Time flies!
I was expecting for the adultery situation to remain undiscovered until the very end, creating lots of tension in the process (maybe even with Arq being detained). In general, the justice sucked a$$ on this ship, the police officer, even retired, being largely incompetent.
The whole fuk situation made me think about the society in general - so many people around, and no-one to talk to. Idem for Arq - a whole galaxy full of aliens, and no-one to copulate with, even though all you really need is ask the right person. Which may give Arq a bad example - now he will ask everyone, not just Zekra. The reference to meditation and not thinking but perceiving made me genuinely chuckle.
All in all, I like how there were no loose or unused ends in the story, most information given at one point in time have been used later on.
And yes, the illustrations were gorgeous as usual.

I had thought about Arq getting detained actually, but the idea got scrapped with the way the plot developed (he will get detained properly in a different episode, for taking a hostage).
Well yes - there are plenty of species that approach bonobos in their sexual behaviour and plenty of individuals horny or curious enough to get it on with. Although Zekra would surely not approve of him asking everyone for sum fuk, mostly of it being disruptive and embarrassing.
Why, because it's a terrible depiction of meditation?
