Frosted hoofprints and shimmering moonlight reflecting along silvery antlers. Its fall coat was still present, partially and slowly being replaced by pale glittering shades of opal and lapis. An empty landscape stretched endlessly in all directions, the only definition of any landscape beneath the thickly veiling snow were lights and shadows of high hill and mountain peaks, and plunging valleys that intersected them.
It was still very early in the season, hence why it hadn't fully shifted its coat, but, with the new snowfall, and the large moon that hung in the cold and cloudless sky, perhaps that could be expedited.
