“BUAAH BUAAAH!” cried little Fabrizio, after his fall.
“What is wrong my little puppy?” the calming reassuring voice of his mama, Maria, asked him.
Fabrizio kept crying holding his left hand a little drop of blood running down his palm.
“Do you have a bua in your hand, let mama see.”
Still sobbing and sniffing he showed his hand, he had a small abrasion on his palm it wasn’t very concerning but it was deep enough to bleed few drops of blood.
“Does it hurt?” Fabrizio nodded but already was settling, the calming presence of his mama reassuring him.
“Mama will kiss it and make it better” said Maria cleaning the wound and kissing the hand.
“See all better” the bleeding already stopped.
Fabrizio was still sad for the experience asking to be picked up , and Maria was happy to obliged him.
“Uff wow Fabri, you had grown so much, mama needs to start to exercises more to keep up” Acting up how much he had grown.
“Does it still hurt?” asked her seeing him still frowning. Fabrizio nodded.
“Using your words you mean …”
“Yes mama, hurt”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes”
“Hmm,… what to do?... Ah, I know a little spell to push a way the ache. Mommy kisses!”
Maria started to kiss him all-over at first Fabrizio fought against the attention to then enjoying it, laughing and forgetting his troubles to at the end falling at sleep in her arm.
Maria craned her neck to look at his peaceful sleeping face, smiling proudly.
Between the two only her now still remembered all the times that their parts were inverted.
How she run to her big brother in search of comfort and reassurance, how a teen had been her only real parent figure.
She examined the hand again. It wouldn’t scared. With a sigh of relief thanked her luck, she was still holding her promise, good.
Bosco would have been home soon for lunch and take over for the parent duty, while she could check one last time her degree thesis.
