Getting Ready for the Big Date
Doom is getting ready for the big date with Mr. Snake
Raven (as stated as Doom's species) usually have a more prominent neck tuff, one of the many ways to differentiate them from crows. Although for some reason Doom's neck/torso is strangely smooth from the trailer so I am head cannoning her having to smooth them down with feather products before going out.
Did you know that birds have "thumbs" that aids them in flight control? If you ever had a chicken wing tip, and wonder what the little "thumb" on the side is, that's called alula! Similar to how primates requires a opposable thumb to greater utilize their hands, flying birds can use alula to manipulate the air lift and gain a greater control in flight. With the use of the alula, landing becomes easier as they are able to fly at a greater angle of attack (wings open and abdomen facing forward) without stalling (falling straight out of the sky). With a more prominent development of alula, raptors also be guided precisely to the prey's location during an attack, greatly increasing their chance of a successful catch.
