Hey, folks, here's my first mission submission to
PMDAdventure I kinda went a bit minimalistic in the description more leaning on character interaction rather than description- after all, the locations involved are depicted already, and are fairly straightforward. I hope I didn't overdo it and that its acceptable. I may edit it more later, but deadline looms. Again, pasting here for ease of reading. Enjoy!
"And there! The mission board! Come on!"
Eli's thoughts were in a whirl as the ceaselessly eager Heracross led him on. It literally was just days ago that he was running away from his home- well, more "Family" than home, they'd never settled long in any place- and now he was the head of an explorer team? It was almost too much to process.
"Hey, folks! Just in time, too, got a new batch up for you!" A drifloon calls as they approach.
"Hey, thanks!" The Heracross grinned as she skidded to a halt, Eli nearly bumping into her as she did. "I'm Hega, this is my leader, Eli. We're Team Safari! You the guy in charge of missions?"
"Well, not in *charge* so to speak, but I'm the assistant. Name's Baxter! I'd love to stay and chat, but I got lots to do today! Seeya around folks!"
"Alright, later on, Bax!" She waves, practically bouncing, as Eli scan's the board.
"So, what've we got?" Hega asks, leaning on Eli's head, peering over him at the board as she does.
"Oof. Get off." He pushes her aside and she giggles. "Uhm, looks like they need someone to clean up the beach, Find someone's breakfast, or beat up some thief. What should we do?"
"All of them, of course! Come on!"
"What- Aghhh!" Eli was once again yanked after the Heracross. "And we'll do it in record time, too! We'll show everyone Team Safari is the best!"
Eli managed to find his feet just in time to notice where she was headed. "Hega, the path to the beach is that way... that leads to the bluff."
"I know! This is the fastest way to the beach!" She responded enthusiastically.
"Are you crazy!?" He attempted to stop her, but weight, strength, and momentum was in her favor. Suddenly, he found himself airborne, trailing behind the Heracross.
'Huh.' The thought drifted incongruously through his head, time seeming to slow as they fell 'that cliff really looks like a Sharpedo.' He scanned wildly around, looking for a vine, a rope, a tree, or *something* to grab onto before impacting on the sharp rocks below.
However, Hega manages to have it covered- with a click of her carapace, wings buzz, and she glided them past the sharp rocks, and into the sea with a splash. Eli thrash for the surface, treading water, catching sight of the grinning Heracross.
"You're insane!"
"Its only insane if it doesn't work! C'mon!" She swims for shore.
Eli grumbled, following after...
The beach was littered with bottles. "What is going on? Normally, when you find bottles like this at the beach, there's letters from someone stranded in them." Eli puzzled
"Maybe they were mute?"
"..."
"What?"
"Never mind, Let's just get to work."
Frantic running, and way too much clinking later, the bottles were gathered up and deposited in an appropriate location. "Alright, what's next?"
"Find a misplaced Lunch!" Hega declared.
"You know, if people in this place are losing their food, they seriously need help." Eli rolled his eyes. "What's next, helping them brush their teeth?"
"Hey, be nice! They're paying customers!"
He sighed. "Right, let's get on with it."
"Split up? Search twice as fast."
"Betcha I find it first!"
"You're on!"
"Oh, excuse me you two." A Chansey asked as she approached them. "Are you two the ones that took the job to find my lunch?"
"Yes ma'am! don't worry, we're on the job! We'll have it to you in a second!" and the both of them race off.
"But..." The Chansey starts before she realizes they're long gone.
Treasure town is practically turned upside down as the two race from house to store, before meeting back at the center of town.
"Well?" Eli panted.
"I checked inside the watering hole, the bank, The Link shop, The store, The storage place, even inside the cliff! Nothing!"
Eli groaned. "I looked inside the chest appraisal place, The Day Care, the Cafe, The Guild, even back on the beach just in case! I couldn't find it either!"
"That's what I was trying to tell you two..." The Chansey said, as she caught up with them. "I found my lunch! It was inside my own house. But since you went to all the trouble of finding it, I'll tell them you solved my mission, alright? Thanks for trying!" She waved and walked off.
"..." Eli stared after her, and Hega chuckled nervously rubbing the back of her head.
"...You know, its a good thing these people are so nice, otherwise it'd be really easy not to like them."
"Well." Hega grins. "Someone's grumpy! But I know what will cheer you up!"
"...What."
"Beating up some thief! C'mon! We've got one more mission to do!"
"Gah!" Eli was once again dragged along after the enthusiastic Heracross.
"You know, they really could be more specific in directions than 'right outside of town'." Complained Hega after 20 minutes.
"Shhh. I'm need to concentrate Hega, if I'm going to track him."
"You've been tracking him forever!"
"No, look, I lost his trail somewhere around here-"
"HEY! Will you kids SHUT UP!" Bellowed and angry Aipom up in the tree they'd been wandering around. "I'm trying to take a nap!"
"That's Him!"
"Get 'em!"
"What?" Is all the Aipom managed to get out before the two leap at him! the Aipom screeched and leaps from tree to tree to get away from them.
"Dang meddling kids! I gotta get-"
"Away with it?" Eli appeared in front of him, somehow having cut him off. the Aipom screeched in surprise, Pulling out the club,
he swung wildly, Eli flickering away again- Using Quick Attack to move rather than attack, the Aipom swung at air, and being completely overbalanced, fell from the trees.
"Oof!"
He stumbled back up, snarling, "You brats, I'll knock you both silly-" was as far as he got before getting doubly decked by a Brick Break and Ice Punch!
"Awww! Dangit Eli! You froze the club in with him!"
"So break it out! You're unbelievably strong, right?"
"Oh yeah." *CRACK* "Hope Master Marowak doesn't mind it covered in ice."
"I'm sure its fine. C'mon let's get out of here. I'm bushed after all this running around."
"Yeah. and guess what?"
"What?"
"Team Safari completed three mission! We're awesome!"
"Heh, I guess we are." Eli actually smiled slightly as the headed back.
