To me, having it be paid is NOT the issue. The Complete version will include 3 monthly subscriptions as permanent features, considering it will also eliminate all needs for microtransactions. A new in-game currency will allow easier collection of furniture to replace the old, now-obsolete Leaf Tickets system. And lastly there's no constant need to interact with others just to complete tasks, which I for one am very supportive of. Compared to Mega Man X DiVE being about $40 USD, ALL of this is a mere $10 USD before the end of January, and the full price is about $20 USD. This is perhaps one of the most forgiving fees I've seen to date.
But the downsides, the reasons why I'm not joining Complete, are that the game is still terribly repetitive, and now you can't farm Platinum Points to justify the grind.
