Finding himself bound like this there will be the chance to reflect upon his mistakes and find some humility in being for the moment helpless, with contemplation perhaps letting him remember the way he used to be, shedding away the pride and greed that lead him down his dark path, as well as that he was granted the mercy he asked for in this case.
