"Can you fix it, doctor?" asked Mei Zheng, the amateur heroine Problem Panda. The 'doctor' was Dr Careful, a brilliant ferret scientist. The 'it' was her battlesuit, given to her by an anonymous benefactor. It currently had a big tear in it, exposing circuity and other high-tech bits.
"This is some significant damage," said Dr Careful.
"You can thank 5-Kay Newt for that," Problem Panda said sourly.
"Uh, I, of course, have NO idea where that tall and dangerous criminal resides," Careful insisted nervously.
"Chill, doc. It's a figure of speech. Can you fix my suit?"
"I'm not really an engineer but I should be able to patch it up. I do wish you'd find someone more suitable to be your Mr Fixit though..."
"You know you'd miss me if I found someone else, doc," the panda teased. She crossed her arms under her breasts, emphasizing the large mounds. Especially from Careful's lower vantage point.
Dr Careful blushed. He would miss having a curvy panda come and visit when she needed scientific help.
The ferret had to borrow some supplies from Nemesis' lab for the repairs. In fact, he was pretty sure this suit was the mad scientist's work and wondered how the panda came by it.
After patching the damage to the suit, Careful connected it to his computer for a diagnostic scan. Everything seemed to be functioning well but he was surprised by an alert.
"WARNING: User seems to be an idiot. Activate Helper Mode for Dummies? WARNING: goggles not found. Heads-up display not available."
Careful conveyed this to Problem Panda, although he didn't mention the insulting tone of the operating system.
"This damn thing has a helper mode?" asked the superhero skeptically. "Wish I'd known that a while ago. Also, I wish I knew where I put the goggles when I had the suit remodeled."
"Hm... maybe I can make it work another way," mused Careful.
--
Where was helper mode her whole life! Sure, without the goggles (which Mei might have stored in her parent's house with some other junk?) the suit couldn't display any information for her. But with Dr Careful's modifications, helper mode had the suit give her little tugs to draw her attention to threats or other things she should pay attention to.
"Damn, pal, you're really on the ball today!" said 5-Kay Newt, after Problem Panda dodged a punch from behind. The shark's wide smile betrayed her excitement at the thought of a good brawl.
"We're not pals! Friends don't punch other friends' heads off!" Problem Panda argued. She punched Kay hard in the stomach.
The shark grunted but her smile only grew. "Agree to disagree!"
The fight raged all along the boardwalk and down the beach but thanks to helper mode, Mei was able to keep up with the shark better than she ever had before.
The conflict ended, not with victory of one side or the other, but when an alarm went off for the shark.
"Oops!" said the shark. "Gotta go."
"What? Just like that?" asked Problem Panda.
"I can't spend all my time with you! So clingy!"
5-Kay Newt got away. Well, Mei didn't try too hard to stop her, despite the suit tugging at her. The only thing the shark was guilty of today was violent assault.
"Well, that was all very stupid," said Problem Panda. "But I think I deserve a nice little treat for putting up with it."
During the fight, the panda had spotted an ice cream stand and now she headed towards it.
But as the squirrel at the stand assembled a tall tower of ice cream for Problem Panda, helper mode's tugging because more insistent. Finally, it dropped the subtlety and just started dragging Mei away.
"Where are we going!?" asked the panda, confused. "I want ice cream before we go!"
Problem Panda's costume answered only by continuing to pull her where it wanted her to go.
---
I don't think it's ever come up but I've long liked the idea that Mei's battlesuit has a manual or helper AI that would explain everything and Mei screwed herself out of access to it by losing the goggles that were originally part of the suit.
The prompt for this pic I gave was just the costume revolting and tgwonder came up with the ice cream that Mei wasn't getting. Poor girl.
