"This idea is related to a very dear tradition in my country, El Dia de Muertos. During the celebration of the Day of the Dead, it is normal for the souls of the deceased to return momentarily to our existential plane to live with their families and nourish themselves with the essence of the food that is placed on the altars.

One of these souls is a mixed breed dog (reference photos attached) that returns with the intention of spending time and playing with her human as they used to do before, but for this, she requires a physical body. To solve this problem, she decides to possess a random person, who is a young foreign man who had come to learn about this Mexican holiday. By possessing the body, it transforms into an anthropomorphic version of the female dog (instead of taking a feral/quadruped form as she wanted, since possession is not a 100% perfect art lol).

Now with both souls sharing a body, with her in control and him in the passenger seat, they begin their search for the owner, but to go unnoticed they decide to dress up as Catrina (reference images attached), with her dress and sarape, and whose half of the body is painted like a skull and the other half is her natural fur. They begin their journey and find him, taking turns to talk, where she is happy to see him and the other part explaining the situation. The human owner (offscreen) only has three things to say, that he is happy to be able to reunite with his beloved Shenzi (the female dogs name), that he is grateful to him for allowing them to meet again and with the doubt of why the Catrina costume? If here in Mexico the Day of the Dead and Halloween are celebrated on the same night, they could have easily passed as a furry or werewolf without a problem xd. [ ref ] "
