He Deserves It
“Ack! O-Oh no… N-not again! I j-just ate enough for FIVE! I gotta - I gotta… EAT!”
GROWWLLL…
Do not worry. This upstart of a unicorn deserves what he’s got. He aught to have listened to his elders in the caravan better - heeded their warnings on faith and decency better. But no - he had to make his own way, damnation to the silly traditions of his backwards people. He was a modern unicorn, he thought!
It was the dawn of his eightieth year - the official coming of age of a unicorn - when he skipped out of the camp, never bothering to look back. Still… it was difficult to deny what was in his blood. The might of Anu, the Moon Goddess, was not present only in his mind from the dull teachings of his elders, but lived on also in his very being - even down to his stomach.
His people, were plentiful of appetite, but often thin of frame (at least thinner than they aught to be given said eating habits), and it was no mere gift of metabolism that made them that way. Half of all they ate was given to their goddess, an offering to keep the moon sustained. But, if he was to be cleaved wholly from those wretched nomads, THAT would have to go too…
It’s not terribly easy, but not especially hard, for a unicorn to commit the Ritual of the Lunar Adversary, but, I assure you, no matter how terrible the name may sound, it’s really nothing to write home about - in fact, I don’t see a good reason to write much on such a thing. The upstart was disappointed by the whole affair, too, but, at the end of it, he was finally free of his supposed shackles…
But, a unicorn cut off from Anu rarely stays as he was for long… Whether through a divine lacking, or coincidental misfortune, he will ALWAYS receive payment for his heresy… payment that will make itself known in the place that all who know him will see…
The demands of the upstart’s stomach will only grow, and grow, and grow… And he shall grow with it. He wished to be cleaved from his sacrifice, so, it is only right that he suffer the full brunt of those 80-odd years of gains he missed out on.
So, you see, it’s like I said - He deserves what he’s got.

Here’s a very fun, indulgent personal piece from a little while ago - I’m very pleased with the shape and expression on this one, and the overall mood of the piece. I’m pleased to say that the growth of this fellow won’t be stopping anytime soon…
