Mulling things over, I hit upon something. The Chip and Dale of the Rescue Rangers are actually the sons of the Chip and Dale that were fighting over Clarice, and who could blame the boys for competing for the attentions of Clarice? Discussing it with a friend, we figure Clarice had a twin sister who was slightly more intellectual and quickly caught Chip's fancy when the gang met backstage after the events of TWO CHIPS AND A MISS. Despite Clarice being the torch singer, her sister's name was, ironically enough, Cinder -short for Cinderella. She, too, was a singer, but her voice was lent to opera.

Which means at a family reunion you'd see Chip Sr and his wife Cinder, Dale Sr and his wife Clarice, Chip Jr and his wife Gadget, and Dale Jr and his wife Foxglove...

As to that movie I didn't see, I caught a post that showed the TV Rangers watching said movie. Chip and Gadget were made physically ill by it before Chip kicked the DVD out of their headquarters. There's a fan theory I rather like which says the movie was actually a sly hit piece produced by Fat-Cat to sully our heroes. (And yes, I know some people liked the movie, but more people didn't. Characters people grow up with actually mean something to those who grew up with them. Movie studios either don't get that, or do get it but for some reason want to deconstruct everything that means something to people because it supposedly helps advance their paid agendas. Never quite figured out how, exactly, but clearly it's the motivation.)

Anyway, here's Clarice (or is it Cinder?) taking a bubble bath.
