The Frost Fox of Fuji
Long ago, at the base of Mt. Fuji, there was a lake that shimmered like polished glass, even in the height of summer. This lake was said to be the domain of a mystical fox known as Yuki no Kitsune, the Frost Fox. With fur glinting like sapphires, the fox held dominion over the Ever Frost, a power that froze anything in its grasp.
Legends claim that the Frost Fox guards the lake as penance for a forgotten sin, and that one day, when the ice melts for the first time in centuries, the fox will finally be free. On moonlit nights, locals say you can see its graceful form dancing on the ice, leaving trails of shimmering frost in its wake.
But beware: to disturb the lake’s stillness is to risk invoking the wrath of the Frost Fox, who protects its sanctuary with the fury of a winter storm.
