I persistently wanted to depict some alternative image of a magician, a witch, witchcraft, but without the inherent banal attributes and to put some meaning into it. But all my friends say that it turned out to be a nun. This is even insidious in its own way

I can kinda see why your friends would say that she looks like a nun. She does have a similar wardrobe.
But a real nun’s outfit has a very specific look to them.
Nuns usually have some kind of shawl or scapular that drapes over the shoulders. Their headwear consists of a veil that specifically hides the hair and wimple(which is basically a kind of headscarf) that covers everything on the head except the face. I also believe that their robes generally(but not universally) lacked a belt.
Your witch character here lacks the scapular and wimple, and it looks like she wears a different kind of veil. One that I assume is supposed to cover her face (albeit sorta see-through). She also wears a belt that appears to be wrapped around her robe in a way that gives a bit of a hint to her actual figure. Also, the tiny skull and buds on her headwear wouldn’t exactly be considered “church material”.
Those are just my observations. Sometimes I can’t help but try to point out the differences. It’s always the smaller details that help make a picture or character stand out.
In any case, you did amazing with this one! I also appreciate how you tried to go for a different design for a witch or magic-based character.
