The picture's pretty striking with the dark colored barn standing behind the naked tree, amidst all the brightness of spring. Seems like some sort of metaphor for the kind of person that could have lived there [or maybe still does?].

The tree is funny - the part against the bright sky is dark, teh part against teh black building is light - and you don't even see it at first bcause you are looking at the building.
