Sophie and Kai - alterative universe, it's like what if...
Kai is one of my characters that... well , is VERY important to the plot
Short lore:
Kai and Sophie have known each other since childhood, from their earliest years. This is because the fathers of both worked together on the development of rotters. Kai's father was the lead designer and, essentially, the creator of the rotters. Sophie's father worked for the state (Kamesland). Around 30 years before the start of my comic, when rotters were still a brand-new invention, Kamesland (country) was the first to take an interest in the project.
Sophie's father served as the first "caretaker" of the rotters. He was the chief commander of the new robotic army. His role was somewhat similar to what Matros holds now, but back then it was far more significant because rotters actively participated in operations and were constantly in production. Rotters proved their worth during the First Alliance War, but afterward, they were somewhat set aside for about 30 years.
During that time, when Sophie was little, she often played with Kai and a rotter named Gawdy, who was her father's personal rotter. When Sophie's father was murdered, Gawdy took care of the young wolf-girl and raised her. The assassination involved none other than Kai's father, who was sentenced to death. During the unfolding events, Kai severed his friendship with Sophie. He refused to believe in his father’s guilt and, seeking to clear his father’s name, became deeply interested in rotters and began studying them. Eventually, Kai disappeared without a trace. Sophie last saw Kai 3 years ago.
The drawing I made depicts an alternate version of events where the assassination never happened, and everything could have turned out differently where Sophie and Kai might have been destined for each other.
