The Sacrifice: An ABC Poem

All along the tower
Beneath a steel sky
Cries a lonely angel
Dying in the sun
Earthly people can’t comprehend
For they can’t climb the tower
Go only to pray
Hoping to catch a glimpse of something divine
Iscariot guards watch over the inner sanctum
Jesting in nature and spirit
Kicking the fallen back below
Laughing as they work their oath
Men with white cloaks are up high
Nothing will stop them
Offering peace with the dying angel
Placing chalices of wine to her mouth
Quitting only after she take a sip
Resting with peace
She starts to vanish
Traces of feathers remain where she lay
Unifying both time and space around the tower
Verifying with the ones above
Without sacrifice
Xanos can’t rest
Yearning for the souls of the people
Zany and mislead
