Several Thousand years in the past Prince Seraph was one of the Demigod sons of the Forbidden King Yaldabaoth the Usurper, whose pride and endless hunger for power drove him to do what was thought to be the impossible, he broke a legendary and stole their power, usurping his way into being a cursed legendary himself for the other legendaries would never accept him sucking the life from another legendary, so he waged war with the Legendaries not only for his continued survival, but to conquer reality and reshape the world as he saw fit!
While Seraph was loyal and sought his father's approval, Yaldabaoth barely cared for Seraph's existance and favored Seraph's brother Auren. Being his son and being loyal didn't matter in the slightest to Yaldabaoth, all he cares about is Power. Seraph was by no means weak, but he failed to match up to his brother and his father's expectations. Time and time again whenever the brothers would duel each other Auren seemed to keep calm through every fight and look like he was enjoying himself, he never intended to upstage his brother but it fueled a bitterness in Seraph which turned into a fierce fiery hatred for Auren! Even after Auren turned traitor their Father still did not acknowledge Seraph, so Seraph was determined to strike down his brother this time once and for all...and he failed.
Eventually his war had ended with the Forbidden King defeated but not dead. The best they could do was to seal away his body so he could not cause any more harm, and not without casualties. Arceus themself was one of the victims injured in combat and had to separate themself from the world falling into a comatose sleep while their wounds festered like a poison in their body. During this dark age following the war, the legendaries annihilated the legacy of the Forbidden King and removed all knowledge and memory of him from history and the minds of mortals in order to try to keep his prison secret so it may never be opened and the beast within never again free to wreck such havoc on the world again.
Seraph was left discarded; a failure to his own side and an enemy to the Legendaries he fought. He fled the land he once knew as his home and hid away determined to survive. As a Demigod he has a long life ahead of him and plenty of time, his father was still alive after all and so long as Seraph was loose in the world he could find a way to free his father, but no longer out of an obligated loyalty or desire to be the good son who seeks approval, all he had left was Spite. Hate would be the fuel to the flames that burn the world, he swore an Oath of Vengeance seeking to kill his brother and free his father only so he can destroy him himself and let everything fade to black in the process!
For a while his death march was all that mattered to him, like a soldier who would do his duty no matter the cost to himself or anyone else even if it meant there would be nothing left in the end, but eventually he started to stray from his path. At first it was merely little things, temporary moments where he wasn't thinking about his goal, finding little joys where they counted and no longer having the constant pressure of his father or the shadow of his brother looming around him. Time kept on passing on and the pain he once had started to hurt less but that pain was also the same thing that had kept him motivated over the past thousand years. He didn't know who he was without it anymore but his convictions started to wane.
At one point Seraph thought he could put his past behind him and leave it all behind believing he could be free, start over as somebody new. He found genuine love he was missing in his life with somebody he cared about and cared about him; His Father didn't matter, his Brother didn't matter in their lives, they had each other, a son named Samael and another Egg due to hatch...That was when Seraph's past started to catch up with him. Followers of Yaldabaoth discovered him and how he had strayed from freeing his father. They offered an Ultimatum: Hand over his children to be used as a vessel for Yaldabaoth or they would kill his family.
Seraph in order to try to spare his family decided to end it himself in an act of what he believed to be mercy rather than allow Yaldabaoth's followers to touch them or live in a world with what he was about to do. Full of regret he took his own wife's life but was seen by his son while Seraph thought he was asleep. Samael received a scar but managed to get away with his sibling's egg. Believing there was no hope for him to ever have another chance to be happy again he renounced all happiness he ever felt and reignited the fires of vengeance.
As opposed to his brother Auren who carries a Shield and Lance that appear to be made of stained glass, Seraph carries a double ended Spear and Razor-edged Shield that appear to be made of Obsidian.
