Teo is a shaman, so he likely has knowledge of various protection spells or ones that give resistance to fire or other elemental damage and if he knew he was going into a dangerous situation I imagine he might cast a few over himself. So he might well have been mostly stunned and mildly singed, though might play dead so Mimic will think he's taken him out and hopefully leave him be after finishing gloating.
