Naga Hormones
Here is a fun lil pic I did of my nagasona (in the femboy version I drew him before), experiencing one of the issues that can plague naga folks in demihuman society.
See, to try to make a long story short, Nagas have two diets, an every day diet (just like humans), and a sorta once-a-month diet where they must eat something larger. Referred to sometimes as "hunting", because they are historically biologically designed to eat humans. Except that in this society, they obviously don't want people eating each other. So nagas are given a supplement meal every period which is meant to satisfy their cravings. It's like a bunch of protein and nutrients stuffed into an animal stomach. meant to simulate the feeling of eating a prey (since they can't really just shove a big mac down there, it won't work.)
If they neglect their daily diet, they need to hunt more often. but if they neglect their naga diet, they will need to do so much more quickly.
Even the most well-meaning of nagas will slowly be filled with an ever increasing hormone that will make the idea of eating a person less and less horrifying and hard to consider, and more and more appealing. until they go from refusing to, to really wanting to, to reeeeeally wanting to. after becoming desperate enough, they won't be able to control themselves.
And here's the other thing; nagas, a long time ago, before demihuman society was secretly integrated into our human one... nagas in their culture, well... they'd never heard of the idea of monogamy. They kinda lived in a highly polyamorous culture where it was like a common greeting to flirt with each other. They'd spend days snoozing in each others coils and use hypnosis as a show of dominance, intimacy or even as a greeting.
Being playful and even promiscuous is a part of their DNA. (figuratively speaking).
So, even centuries later in modern day society, nagas still have that inclination buried deep within themselves. It can be hard to ignore that desire for physical contact, for a creature's warmth, or to hold another in their coils. The desires for these are a part of them.
And when their naga instincts start to come out, it's not just a desire to hunt humans that grows, but a more... intimate side. Those hormones all become more difficult to ignore.
So even a cutie pie and innocent person like this boy could become driven by those... romantic desires.
Let's hope these two's other friends manage to find them before this goes too far, hm??
He might get carried away and then this turns into a steamy fanfic!
Or even worse, if he gets really carried away, she might get to see the inside of his stomach, and get a first hand demonstration on the next lesson of Naga biology...
Someday soon hopefully I'll write up a whole explanation on how nagas work in my AU, and maybe on other species too. but until then, I hope this helps to explain things X3

Well, technically, it's designed to transform people into nagas and rebirth them (even males can do this), but an organ designed to be able to move molecules aroudn can also just separate them and cause the thing to melt
Prey is kept alive and can breathe in there, and so it also doesn't act like a stomach, dissolving horrifically with acid, but instead just making the prey go all gooey like ice ceam and get absorbed.
In my universe they CAN eat orally but their belly can only hold so much and even if they were to try and eat a human, it can put a lot of risk to them because of the pressure it puts on their human organs.

yep that is what that is for! in this AU, while nagas *can* technically eat people orally, it's rather dangerous for them and can easily lead to problems due to the pressure it puts on their organs, so most will do it that way with this opening i nthe tail at which point hte prey is taken to a special organ with transformative powers that can actually turn people into a naga too, but most people jsut use it to painlessly melt and absorb the prey (which in most cases is jsut an unfeeling sack of meats in modern society, though some do still hunt people for fun)
However in my mind, I don't think this particular situation will come to that. he'll get a bit snuggly and that's about it.
