Like i mentioned in the previous upload, I spent a lot of time-- too much time-- trying to rationalize Fox and Krystal breaking it off in the first place. It didn't make sense and, at the time, i could not accept it.
Then I asked myself, how do workplace relationships hold up? Especially when it's an intimate relationship between an inferior and superior.
I added another layer knowing that in this line of work, people die. How does one command their people, much less their SO, to carry out an order that could get them killed?

Bitches be like "You'd rather save the world so we're not assimilated by robugs or turned into fish food than Netflix and chill with me?" I can certainly appreciate you wanting to rationalize Command, but I really don't think anything besides "because it's more dramatic this way" really justifies why a lot of choices were made. Fox made a lot of progress as a character in Adventures, going from a jaded, washed up merc to the stoic leader of Assault. Maybe all the fame went to his head afterwards? Maybe it was losing the Great Fox, one of the biggest connections to his father while also almost losing Peppy, Rob, Pepper, and who knows who else he knows off screen? Maybe there was a nice old lady that made delicious scones he really liked and he finds her bakery was flattened by the first round of bombardment with no survivors.
Honestly, I don't think Krystal, the telepath and the strangely more mature one at times, is blameless. She's a telepath but can't tell Fox is going through some shit? None of it adds up, but again, I applaud you for trying to make sense of the melodrama that is Command. And heck, I wouldn't doubt Fox would develop some sort of savior syndrome considering he's bailed out the Lylat System so many times, dropped their closest rival Star Wolf every time, and killed Andross like 3 times.
Also, I really love how fox like they look in this. Fox has that long snout and their head shape is so much better than the bell shape of the canon.

My intention with this comic wasn't to make Krystal blameless. Perhaps she does feel regret for not pushing the subject with Fox. At the time, maybe she trusted he would come to her. It's not like she wants to constantly intrude on somebodies thoughts all the time, yknow? She can still set boundaries for herself.
But that's beside the point. She isn't mad that Fox's decision; it kinda worked out being left on Corneria to then defend it. She's mad Fox made an executive decision, about their relationship, without talking to her first.
Imo, that's sounds like a betrayal. If I were Krystal, it would be concerning that Fox would purposely avoid me or hide these feelings from-- despite my telepathic abilities. Like Fox expects her to initiate a talk everytime he feels like not opening up on his own volition.
