I am superhype about the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver remasters. I had given up on this series as dead long ago. Still holding out hope for a proper remake someday but for now, this will do. LOK:SR is easily one of the greatest influences in my formative years as an artist, right up there with The Lion King and The Last Unicorn.
So on that note, here's some Soul Reaver-inspired art. I asked myself what other kinds of entities might you encounter in the world of Nosgoth and just kinda let myself go nuts. It was a lot of fun.

I dream, but it is like a once proud fire, reduced to embers beneath the smothering embrace of reality; suffocating all hope beneath it's oppressive bulk.
Who could they get to do the voices if they were to do a full remake?
Would they change something? Try to go the woke route?
Would they attempt to divert themselves from the classical form and verbosity which made the game so compelling in lieu of 'modernizing' it for the current populace?
Amidst all of these questions I waver - The fear of what could be holding back my desire for something; anything to bring to life that which has been considered all but dead. And when things look at their bleakest, I recall a moment of levity that sought to shatter it all like some piecemeal mural of dead.
My friends and I playing soul reaver: legacy of Kain. And the subsequent sentence of...
"Shit, I'm too low health. I'm going to go back to the urethral realm".
Who could they get to do the voices if they were to do a full remake?

B(rolling R)uh. How on EARTH could Soul Reaver go "woke?" Why would that thought even cross your mind? What do you think they're gonna do? Make Raziel a black trans feminist who soliloquizes passionately with great eloquence on seizing the means of Nosgoth's production? Chill. XD
It's unlikely any dev team would be able to recapture that same "Tony Jay, Michael Bell, and Simon Templeman Trifecta" lightning in a bottle and I don't think we should expect them to. If LOK/SR remakes end up being terrible, well, we still have the originals. That's how I feel about those goddawful Disney remakes. Yeah, they beshat some of my favorite movies but the originals still exist and I can still enjoy them.... so long as Disney+ doesn't hike up their rates any further.
Absolute worst case, we get disappointed, remakes bomb, the IP dies. I'd still like to see them try. Trust me when I say I could soliloquizes passionately at great length on what I'd do with the series moving forward. Don't tempt me or there will be text walls. :P
