This was first time in my life when I have experience with 3D models and try paint it. Long time ago I just planned what to give for my beloved Fox, @nightsinger for his 35th birthday as a present... and choose make his favorite characters from World of Warcraft game.
I use links of his characters, Batelgeuse and Tarf, from WoWHead Dressing Room as a base and recreate it in WoW Model Wiever, download in .obj. Cause some elements has 0 thick, so I try to learn how to add some in Blender... with polygons, cause 3d models from WoW Model Wiever was too square. Unfortunatelly, someone must help me with this, cause I suck with Blender and even after so many try I still have artifacts (holes in model - unacceptable when you want print it in 3D). I planned do all by myself from start to end (except print it in 3D, cause I don't have printer) to make my beloved one present which was only for him from me. Next I send corrected models to someone who have 3D printer. After I have it, I start paint it, but this was my first time. I clean models properly, dry it and use green stuff to put in into holes after 3D print and smooth the surface. Then I clean it one more time and dry. Finally, I paint it - first I use Citadel Chaotic Black base in spray to cover models completly. Next, on vulpera female model I must do so many free-hand paints, on male less and then I start to make thin layers... but definitelly I'm not good at it, make 3-4 layers of everything, cause in many places I have still transparent spots, but want cover it completly. I use Citadel and Vallejo paints. On the end I cover it with Vallejo mate varnish, but I think efect will be better or I do something wrong - on stands it look like a dust.
P. S. Sorry for my english, still try to learn it, so it may be broken.
