Our heroes descend into the earth and enter Lumine Hall, A dungeon populated by talking stones and a few minor annoyances. At the end of the tunnels was another sanctuary guardians, Electro Specter, who is ultimately undone by the reflective 'Franklin Badge'. Ness and co. then encounter the Lumine Hall sanctuary, a mysterious cave which appears to project Ness's very thoughts. From there, the group jumps blindly into a hole leading further into the earth, which lands them in the Lost Underworld.

The scale is immense, and dinosaurs walk the landscape. Along their explorations the heroes happen upon a gated Tenda community (who let them in because they smelled so delightfully of the Tendakraut that the crew had been carrying around) which is also home to an enormous prophetic speaking stone, who informs Ness that he is, in fact the chosen one. The whole universe rest on his shoulders, the poor kid! How stressful that must be. It explains that the monsters guarding the sanctuary locations were influenced by the power of the locations, and how once all eight of the melodies have been recorded Ness will be finally be able to see 'his world'.
