Another piece of headshot practice. This piece was a bit of a struggle and while I don't think I'm super pleased with the end result I atleast did learn a couple things along the way so that I might be able to do better next time. So the original plan was to get a shot with the character looking dismissively at the viewing, but I ran into issues while sketching and after an annoying amount of time and failed sketch attempts I finally got a piece that almost looked how I wanted it. Now this piece could do with a lot of improvement don't get me wrong, the nose I think should be set further to the side and we should only be seeing part of the nose, the muzzle in general is a problem in this piece which I will have to break down and figure out so I don't keep repeating these mistakes. Overally though the piece almost conveys what I want, I think it has the dismissively looking down at you part pretty good but the muzzle in my opinion looks more like it should be on a partially turned character then a side view that I went with. The hair was fun to work on, as it usually is. The jewelry came out pretty good although I might want to adjust the sizing on it as it feels a bit small compared to the head, although most of the lower half of the character feels a touch too small. Everything else I'm pleased with so I think my big issue at the moment with heads is just the muzzle alignment being off in some of my pieces. Anyway I've been practicing heads for like 2 weeks now so I'm gonna move back to practicing some other features, I'm thinking musculature next mixed with posing. I wanna get my characters bodies feeling more realistic both in appearance and in the flow and movement of them so I'll spend a couple weeks working on that stuff, then after that I'll start another short comic (sub 10 pages).
