Aqualights are an aquatic alien species who can breath both underwater and on land but doesn't require only one or the other to survive. They can store water in their tails which allows them to blast out water from their mouths, the fatter their tail is the more water they are storing. Aqualights aren't really built for fighting but they are tanks being able to soak up damage with their beeg bellies and squishy tails while also being able to dis out some heavy hits too.
So here's the thing I made this for two reasons
1) To let people know that this is an open species meaning anyone is allowed to create their own character using this species
2) To let people know the do's and don'ts when making one and don't worry their isn't that many don'ts a.k.a restrictions to making one of these
Things that are required when designing one
1) beeg tail and belly - numba 6 is a good example to how small their bellies can be and as for tail example probs numba 4 or numba 3, the tail and belly doesn't have to be massive just not completely slim
That's it for the required part of the design and now to the fun part. The part where I tell you how much creative freedom you have with their design.
Yes
1) Aqualights come in a multitude of colors as shown here, they're usually vibrant colors but that doesn't mean there can't be some with more darker colors.
2) The patterns on their body's vary between them all as demonstrated here so you can go nuts with the patterns on their body's
3) In Affina's ref - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/58705242/ - one of the colors are labeled as "Suction Cups" I was always torn about whether Aqualights should have them or not and ultimately I decided to make it an optional thing. If you're gonna give your Aqualight suction cups then you should know that those are only on the underside of their ears and tails, Affina's ref shows the ears better.
4) Fins on their tails - I was also torn on even using that at all and ultimately decided to include it. Numba 5 and numba 6 have them.
That's about it when it comes to creating your own Aqualight so if you read through this and you wanna create your own Aqualight then go for it
