I might just be nuts, but I always Identify with insects when it comes to growth.
That being said, I was really touched when I realized that this picture isn't of frass, but of a pupa (I can't really see the images I take when I take them since the sun makes my screan unseeable)! I love how their path through life as a "child" is shown (literally). Especially since I'm starting to really feel the whole 'coming of age' thing myself.
I love thinking about how insects think and feel. How frightening it must be to change lifestyles completely. How frightening it IS to change lifestyles completely!
edit: Looking at this again, I love the way you can see where the leaf has been broken through around the pupa. like. . . it spent it's whole life between the leaf's skin, and then broke out to pupate
