Well ya know you don't often see merboys. Plenty of mermaids but what about the males? Huh? Don't they deserve some love? Well with that in mind I sketched up Travis here. ^^

Travis smiled as he swam out too the "country side" just outside the city. He wasn't the only one a few of his friends were joining him. Quellus was a beautiful water world though it did possess some island chains which some terrestrial humans lived on. Travis and his friends were the Mer. A species of genetically augmented humans that could live underwater. Their lungs modified to be able to process oxygen from the water and air, they also had some genes from dolphins and whales as well. So they were fantastic swimmers and came in a large variety of color ranges. Travis smiled as he could see a few boats and platforms floating above him. It was the 200th anniversary of their colonization of Quellus. Travis giggled a big as he heard the chatter of his friends behind him. Well percieved. In the water Mer typically communicate using telepathy or a mild sonic pulse. They could generate stronger ones though that would confuse predators or anything they were hunting. Travis surfaced and swam over to where some floating stands were and hopped up on a lower partially submerged portion and sat back as a human friend sat just behind him above the water. The two chatted on about this or that as the crowd gathered. Mer popping up as and finding seats while various craft arrived with human occupants. There was going to be a big fire works display and the orbital fighters were going to put on a show diving in and out of the water in all sorts of ways that were it not for their inertial dampeners probably would have killed the occupants. All to entertain the huge crowd gathered for this special event
