A big problem would be that the traffic light sensors (induction coil) don't detect non ferrous objects..

(I stayed at a traffic light for what felt like three minutes before I finally figured out that it wasn't going to change for my Al framed bicycle.)

I think they would.. Small in mass compared to a car, but are right next to the coil.

I prefer rubber shoes though. Steel shoes on concrete or asphalt are like trying to run around on ice. And if you fall, you need help to get upright again.

You need a sufficient horsepower to be required off the sidewalk. Believe it is more than one hp.
